Mental Health

We really do not care about ourselves, do we? Who even cares about someone’s mental health? Is this even a topic to discuss? Is it even a serious issue? It is 2020 and we have so many important things to talk about.

But it is 2020 and it is the high time to take mental health seriously. It is never funny to joke about someone’s mental illness. The one who suffers from such problems knows the darkest side of it because he or she has seen the worst.

Mental health issues sum up problems like depression , anxiety, overthinking, feeling lonely etc. It can be cured but most of the times the situation gets worst, and there are a lot of reasons of this. First, the one who suffers from such bad situtations or problems is afraid of sharing it in public or family or friends. Because people are still not taking it seriously and make a joke out of it . That is why, some people decide to deal with it alone and eventually they fail miserably. Gradually the situation becomes unbearable for them.

Nowadays, social media is a useful platform to share problems. Here people can talk about things which they fail to speak up in real life. But even in social media there are a bunch of people who judge others. If someone shares their problems these people will tag them as “attention seekers”. But no!! Not everyone needs your attention nor your pity. They just need your support and love. They only want to hear that everything will be alright .

We judge people too soon. We believe that if the person is smiling he/she is happy. People who suffer from anxiety/depression always fake a smile on their face. They fear and hesitate. So, they try to look happy and it kills them inside.

Undoubtedly, there is a cure for every problem and even mental issues do. Apart from the medical help we can too help them in overcoming their fear. You can show a little love and support and it is the best you can do for them. If your sister/brother/friend or anyone you know is suffering from such problems , tell him or her that it will be fine and you believe in them. Hold their shivering hand when they are facing anxiety. Be there when they cry, when they feel lonely. This is the least we can do for a person who is fighting with his own self, own emotions and feelings.

To the one who is facing it;

You have no idea how strong you are. Fighting with your inner self your own thoughts is never easy. It is never easy to fake your happiness in front of the world and find a corner to cry your heart out. It does not feel okay when you are with thousands of people and still feeling alone. It is not easy to make people understand why your breath goes heavy sometimes. You know how hard it is to get those suicidal thoughts out of your mind. None but that pillow knows the smell of your tears and the diary!! The diary is your best friend whom you blindly rely on because it does not laugh at you either makes joke upon your problems. You are the strongest person. Never forget the power you hold.
